A Word From Our Education Team
The Art Association of Henry County continues to grow and adapt with a variety of creative opportunities for artists of all ages and skill levels. Whether you’re into clay, glass, or crafting, there’s something for you.
One long-standing favorite is Three Dollar Tuesdays, held in the Art Annex Shaffer Studio. For just $3, AAHC members gather weekly to paint, draw, and create in a bright, inspiring space overlooking the Arts Park. Bring your own materials and enjoy the camaraderie of fellow artists.
We’ve expanded our Open Clay Studio sessions for members who want to work with clay in a relaxed, self-guided setting. These sessions are available:
Tuesdays & Thursdays from 5–8 PM
Saturdays from 9 AM–12 PM
For just $5 per session, members can access pottery wheels, tools, slab roller, and firing space. Clay and glazes are available for purchase, and additional kiln space fees may apply for large projects.
If glass is more your style, don’t miss “Let’s Fuse That Glass” with Mary Jane Rhodes. These fun, walk-in sessions and scheduled workshops offer hands-on instruction in fusing colorful glass pieces into beautiful art. Keep an eye on our calendar for upcoming dates or drop in when she’s hosting.
New this year, we’ve launched Kraft Night with Katy—a rotating monthly craft night where creativity and fun take center stage. Each session features a different project, designed to be beginner-friendly and affordable:
$20 for members / $25 for non-members
Walk-ins welcome
Bring your snacks and drinks, and enjoy a night out making something fun
We also host pop-up workshops and specialty art classes throughout the year. From paint pouring and fiber arts to seasonal projects and beginner pottery classes, we’re always adding something new to the mix.
If you’re interested in teaching, joining the Education Committee, or just learning something new, we’d love to connect.
